RAM 1500 Rebel Night 4x4 Crew Cab 5'7" | 5.7L HEMI | Pano roof | 9 Alpine spkrs | Trailer brake |2022 RAM 1500 Rebel Night Edition 4x4 Crew Cab, the HEMI that does not look for the easy road
There are pickups bought for the image, and there are the ones ordered by someone who knew exactly what they wanted. This 2022 RAM 1500 Rebel belongs to the second group. Put into service on December 22, 2021 and showing 68,535 km, it combines the Rebel package, built to leave the pavement, the Night Edition that blacks out everything that used to shine, and a list of comfort options you rarely see on this trim: panoramic sunroof, Alpine sound system, 12-inch screen, heated seats and steering wheel, integrated trailer brake controller. Its original powertrain warranty is also still active. It is in stock at Daniel Paré, in the Beauce region.
Powertrain and driving
Under the sport performance hood sits the 5.7L HEMI V8 with variable valve timing, the engine RAM owners still ask for by name. It produces 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft (556 N·m) of torque at 3,950 rpm, with honest low-end pull and a sound nobody needs explained to them.
The TorqueFlite 8HP75 eight-speed automatic works quietly, and the multi-displacement system shuts down half the engine under light cruise. Official EnerGuide ratings are 16.1 L/100 km city, 11.0 L/100 km highway and 13.8 L/100 km combined. The 3.92 rear axle ratio, standard on the Rebel, is what explains both the eagerness off the line and the higher trailer rating.
Towing and payload
Here are the numbers from the Stellantis weight and tow chart for this exact configuration, meaning Crew Cab 4x4, 5'7" box, 5.7L HEMI V8 and 3.92 axle:
" Maximum trailer weight of 11,260 lb (5,107 kg)*" Maximum payload of 1,850 lb (839 kg)*" Gross vehicle weight rating of 7,100 lb (3,220 kg)
" Gross combined weight rating of 17,000 lb (7,711 kg)
What sets this unit apart is that it is genuinely equipped to use that capability. The Class IV hitch receiver is standard, but the integrated trailer brake controller was a billed factory option. Plenty of used-truck buyers find out too late that without it, pulling a trailer with electric brakes means an aftermarket box added later. Add the black power trailer-tow mirrors and standard trailer sway damping. Boat, hay wagon, hunting trailer heading up toward Massif du Sud or equipment on the sugar-bush roads, this truck was ordered for exactly that.
Off-road capability and four-wheel drive
The electronic locking rear differential is the centrepiece of the Rebel's identity. With one control, it forces both rear wheels to turn at the same speed. On a muddy grade, a snow-packed sloped driveway or a rut on a logging road, that is the difference between moving forward and spinning one wheel. Very few used pickups in this price range have it.
Hill descent control manages speed on the way down without the driver touching the brakes. Combined with four-wheel drive with low range and hill start assist, it turns situations that strand other vehicles in February into non-events.
Exterior design and presence
The Night Edition blacks out the trim that would normally be chrome, which gives a deliberately understated, substantial truck rather than a flashy one, and the monotone paint carries the body colour through the bumpers.
Granite Crystal Metallic, a billed factory option, is probably the best possible choice for this combination. It is a deep dark grey that shifts toward charcoal with the light, it sets off the black accents, and it forgives gravel-road dust and winter road salt far better than a solid black. The black tubular side steps, also factory-ordered, make a real difference getting in and out of a Rebel, which sits higher than a standard RAM 1500.
Comfort and life on board
The power two-panel panoramic sunroof is the single option that changes the cabin atmosphere most, since it lights up the whole interior including the second row. The RAM Crew Cab remains one of the roomiest in the class, especially in back, where rear legroom compares with plenty of full-size sedans.
The front seats are patterned vinyl and cloth buckets, black with dark ruby red accents. This is not leather, and we would rather say so plainly. In exchange, this trim cleans up without any special care, ages better than pale leather in a truck that works, and goes neither ice cold in January nor scorching in July. The comfort options that were ordered are among the most useful ones in Quebec:
" Heated front seats and heated steering wheel*" Dual-zone automatic temperature control*" Remote start and Keyless Enter 'n Go proximity entry
" Power-adjustable pedals, valuable for shorter drivers*" Under-seat rear storage compartment and second-row in-floor storage bins
Technology and connectivity
The 12-inch touchscreen dominates the dash and is still one of the best interfaces in the pickup industry. Its portrait layout shows two functions at once, for example navigation up top and radio below. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are both supported, the 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot earns its keep on a job site or a long drive, and SiriusXM with 360L on-demand content rounds things out.
The nine-speaker Alpine sound system with subwoofer deserves a mention. This is not the base radio, and the difference is audible in the first few minutes.
Safety and driver aids
*" Forward collision warning with active braking*" Front and rear ParkSense park assist and ParkView rear back-up camera*" Brake assist, ready alert braking and rain brake support
" Hill start assist and hill descent control
" Electronic stability control, traction control and electronic roll mitigation*" Four-wheel disc brakes with anti-lock braking*" Advanced multistage front air bags, supplemental front side air bags and side curtain air bags
In the interest of transparency, this unit does not have blind-spot monitoring or adaptive cruise control. Those systems were offered in a separate group on this model year and do not appear on this truck's original window sticker.
The box, built to work
The 5'7" box measures 67.4 in. (1,711 mm) long, 66.4 in. (1,687 mm) wide and 21.4 in. (543 mm) deep, for 53.1 cu. ft. (1.5 cu. m) of usable volume. It was ordered with a spray-in bedliner, the most durable protection there is since it bonds to the metal and does not trap moisture. Add a deployable bed step, four adjustable tie-down cleats, LED bed lighting and rear wheel-well liners.

Six reasons this Rebel Night Edition stands out
*" The electronic locking rear differential, a piece you almost never find on a used pickup in this price range*" The original powertrain warranty still runs to December 22, 2026 and transfers with no restriction, coverage that can be extended at delivery*" The factory integrated trailer brake controller, ordered as an option, which saves you an aftermarket box added later*" The two-panel panoramic sunroof, an expensive factory option that transforms the feel of the Crew Cab*" The 12-inch screen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and nine Alpine speakers, a combination that makes plenty of newer trucks look underequipped*" The naturally aspirated 5.7L HEMI V8, a proven engine serviceable anywhere in Quebec, whose resale value holds up well
Frequently asked questions
What sets a Rebel apart from a regular RAM 1500?
The Rebel is not an appearance package. It rides higher, its suspension is tuned for off-road use, it gets a sport performance hood, a shorter 3.92 rear axle, a differently geared steering rack and above all an electronic locking rear differential. It is the RAM 1500 built to leave the asphalt, while the other trims are built to stay on it.
Is the 5.7L HEMI V8 reliable long term?
It is one of the most widespread engines in North America for more than twenty years: parts available everywhere, technicians who know it inside out, predictable maintenance costs. The watch points are simple, namely oil change intervals with the right oil and a periodic check of the cylinder deactivation system. At 68,535 km, this engine is still very young.
How much can this truck tow, and is it equipped to do it?
The Stellantis weight and tow chart rates it at 11,260 lb (5,107 kg) for this exact combination of cab, box, engine and axle ratio, with a gross combined weight rating of 17,000 lb (7,711 kg). The Class IV hitch receiver is standard, and the trailer brake controller and trailer-tow mirrors were ordered as options. Real capacity has to account for passengers and cargo in the box.
How does this truck handle winter in the Beauce?
Very well, and that is one of its strongest arguments. Four-wheel drive with low range, the locking rear differential and hill descent control cover just about anything a Chaudière-Appalaches winter can present. Add remote start and the heated seats and steering wheel. A dedicated set of winter tires is still recommended.
How much original warranty is left on this vehicle?
With an in-service date of December 22, 2021, the five-year or 100,000 km powertrain warranty remains active until December 22, 2026, along with the 24-hour roadside assistance that comes with it, and it transfers with no restriction. To be precise, it is the time limit that will be reached before the kilometre limit, so a few months of factory coverage remain, and a Mopar extended protection plan can be added at delivery. The five-year or 160,000 km corrosion perforation warranty also runs to December 22, 2026, and the major emissions component warranty to December 22, 2029. The three-year or 60,000 km basic warranty expired in December 2024. On top of that comes the legal warranty under the Quebec Consumer Protection Act, this vehicle falling into category B.
Are there open recalls, and what happens at delivery?
Every vehicle is checked in the Stellantis system before delivery and any applicable recall is performed at no charge by our certified shop. You can ask us to run that check in front of you before you commit to anything.
Why buy this truck from you rather than somewhere else?
Because a Rebel whose factory powertrain warranty is still active is better off serviced by a certified Stellantis shop with wiTECH and Mopar parts on hand, and because our Sainte-Marie and Saint-Malachie locations put service less than thirty minutes from most municipalities in the Beauce.
Who is this truck for?
Someone who refuses to choose between capability and comfort. Contractor, maple syrup producer, hunter, boat or trailer owner, a family that wants a Crew Cab genuinely livable in back with a panoramic roof overhead. If your use is strictly urban and you never tow anything, a less equipped trim would suit you better. If you pull loads and leave the pavement, this Rebel was ordered for you.
